The Filmmaker Impact Fund

The Filmmaker Impact Fund is our framework for supporting filmmakers through The Short Film Show. Taking part is subject to eligibility. The Fund is not a guarantee of payment.

Who it is for

It is for filmmakers whose films are live on The Short Film Show. You do not apply for it, and you do not pay anything to take part. Once your film is live, it is in the Fund automatically, subject to eligibility.

What you need

• A film that is live on The Short Film Show.
• A signed licence agreement on record for that film. Every film we select is covered by the agreement you accept when you submit, so for a new film this is already done. If one of your films was added before we asked filmmakers to sign, it is not part of the Fund until a signed agreement is on record for it.

What is not part of it

Viewing on the 24/7 channel is not part of the Fund. The channel is about reach, not about the Fund, whichever licence you chose.

What we can and can’t tell you

We don’t publish how the Fund is worked out, and we can’t tell you what any film will receive, so don’t count on the Fund as income. It is there to support filmmakers whose films find an audience here. It is not a payment we owe.

Tips are separate

Viewers on a paid plan can also tip a filmmaker through the Tip Jar on the film page. Tips are separate from the Fund. A service and processing fee comes out of each tip. How the Tip Jar works
