The Short Film Show: a home for short films

The Short Film Show is where independent short films get watched: drama, comedy, horror, animation and more, from around the world and in many languages. You can watch on the web, in our iOS and Android apps, or on a 24/7 channel that never stops.

Where it started

It began as a TV series. The Short Film Show ran for two seasons.

We started the platform because too many good short films were sitting on servers and never reaching an audience. A film gets made, shown a few times, and then has nowhere to go. We wanted to give those films a home, and give people a reason to come and watch them.

What you can watch

Every film has its own page with credits. Hundreds of films are subtitled, in up to six languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic and Simplified Chinese (see the films with subtitles). Browse by genre, country, language or length. Follow a filmmaker and we’ll tell you when they release something new.

Making an account is free and needs no card. The free plan gives you 30 minutes of films a month in standard definition, with ads. Trailers and the 24/7 channel are always free.

Ad-Free is £5.99 a month or £58 a year. It gives you unlimited films, HD up to 1080p, Continue Watching, and the full film details and behind-the-scenes extras on film pages. See the plans

The channel runs around the clock at channel.theshortfilmshow.com. It needs no account, it has ads, and you can leave it on and let it choose for you. How the channel works

If you make films

Submit your film and, if we select it, it gets its own page with your credits, a place in the genres, and the chance to play on the 24/7 channel. You keep the copyright. You choose between an exclusive and a non-exclusive licence. If your film has dialogue and no subtitles, you can have them made for you in up to six languages.

Every film is watched by a person before it goes live. Each week we feature up-and-coming filmmakers on the home page, under Ones to Watch.
